Does your host ask you to write a review?

Does your host ever ask you to write a review?

If you've written a review, were you completely honest? Or did you feel you needed to keep things good with them and hide the ugly side of the business (if there is one)?

I have never been asked by my web host to write reviews, however, I have written and published reviews for my web hosts in the hope to promote my referral links. I did manage to get a decent number of sign ups but sadly not many people ended up buying the products, so I did not benefit much from the reviews.

This seems like it is a bit tacky to do. Like I know a lot of businesses do this but hosting should approach something like this a bit different. I am not with a host anymore but I know if the host did this I would be put off by it.
