Do you still use article directories?

A lot of people stopped article directory submissions lately. Google panda and penguin updates made them to stop I believe. A lot of people copy the articles from article directories to post it in their websites for unknown reasons and this will result in being penalized by google because of the duplicate contents and links from websites with really bad reputation. Also there are only a very few article directories which doesn't copy contents fro other article directories.

Do you still use them, if so why?
