Do you rely on just a few regular forum members to post daily?

On one gamer forum that I'm a regular member, there are always the same five people online everyday talking to each other. it was really cool to see all these people there daily. Sometimes, I see new people there, but mostly it's just a handful of regulars. I like this idea of having a core group of loyal posters who come to the forum daily but think it would also be detrimental to rely on just so few people, because what happens if they start to drift away from the forum, then the site becomes dead.

I can relate to this. I have a blog and there are one or two fans who always seems to comment on every post. It is really nice but I would love it if more people would follow their lead and comment too.

Pfft. No way I would rely on my regular members to post daily. I rely mostly on myself and people on ForumPromotion to help post and maintain the activity . When I had a forum it was mostly the staff and new members or members from ForumPromotion who was posting.

On my forum at the moment I have a few regular members who come on almost daily and post which I think is really nice, they do this off their own back and I feel like I have accomplished something because they want to be coming back. I personally would not fully rely on these members though to post on the forum on a daily basis as I have a duty to also ensure new content gets posted daily and not just leave that to my members.

I would like it when some members are coming back to the forum daily to post and be active on the forum to help grow the community. Its always great to have members come back and be part of the community again.

I expect to have as many people as possible in my forum. My forum currently has some activities, but I am yet to build a stable community.
