Do you promote topics constantly?

How do you guys promote topics on your Social Media sites? I was curious if you promote them constantly, or every once in a while. I try not to do it everyday because then that may annoy some of the people that are following my page. I hear from some people it's very spammy, and they dislike it.

all my posts are pic posts, everyday i have like 10 to 20 new pic sets in different threads, i put every one on twitter, google+, and facebook, ive been doing it for years, i get traffic. there is a public page that everyone thats on twitter at the time sees as well
