Do you preferr to use paid software or free software?

Usually, I go for the free software but now that I want to make a forum, I want to use XenForo.
What do you think are usually the benefits for paid software? I don't see any blogging software being better than Wordpress and that's for free.

I think that free software is a good thing if you are testing it out to see if you want to run a forum, but if you are serious then i think it is best to rather pay for it and get quality out of it.

I like to use free software. I use MyBB or SMF for forums, I use woocommerce with wordpress for online stores, and wordpress for blogs, and business websites. The best thing about using free software is your website running cost will be low and you will be able to run your website for a long time even when it is not earning money.

The plan that you have when it comes to owning a forum is what's going to determine if you should make use of free forum software or a paid forum software as well as themes too. Forum projects that are for long term should be started with paid software. It doesn't matter if it's a cheap one but it's better than using free one at least in my opinion.

If you have money, it's best to use paid forum software to build your forum. It's not a must to have a forum licenses but if your budget is low, free forum software will be your only option. Xenforo paid forum software is what I used to build my forum.
