Do you need lots of traffic to earn Adsense income?

Some of my most active blogs earn very well with Adsense income. And, that's to be expected as most people say you need a lot of traffic to get more clicks.

Then again, one of my blogs that rarely gets updated, still gets traffic (a couple visits a week) and earn Adsense income from clicks. So maybe lots of traffic isn't needed for money. After all, the money is coming from the clicks not ad impressions. So ad placement and relevance of ads shown might have more to do with the rate at which ads are clicked on.

On that particular blog, the block link ads are placed directly above the article or video. And, no other links are available within the article, so solutions come from the ads, not from the links i provide.

Just wondering if you notice an increase in your Adsense income when you have more traffic? Or, if you get income from Adsense even on low traffic blogs/sites?

Yes it needs traffic to earn a good amount. But doesn't mean that if you get less traffic you won't earn at all. You will earn but the amount you earn depends upon the no of visitors and from where the visitors are.

Traffic is always needed to earn more money. The more traffic there is then the more chance that a member will click on one of your ads.

Most sites that get big in the future don't use Adsense anymore. They rather get paid for just putting the ad. That is why there are lots of huge sites in BuySellAds. The site takes 20% of income but you are guaranteed the amount you earn.

I currently still use Adsense but I am thinking of switching over to a site like BuySellAds in the near future.

From my experience I will tell you're likely to earn like 5USD per 1000 visitors on your website! :)
But thats just a rough calculation and may not be true on your cases. This is the result I am getting on my websites!
