Would you say you have an overactive imagination? I will be honest, as I sometimes live in my head, living in fantasies and all that. I know most people do this, it's called daydreaming. We all fantasize about our lives in other scenarios, rich, famous, with the woman of your dreams, etc. But do you ever go a bit overboard? As in you constantly have this overactive imagination where you continue the story in your head?

I have an active imagination, but I wouldn't say it's overactive. What about you though? Also what would you clarify as overactive? I'm not saying overactive imaginations are bad, but I imagine it can be bad for some maybe?

I used to when I was a child. However it has faded away as I've gotten older. It's harder for me to use my imagination when I have a hundred other things that I have to focus on or worry about. I used to want to be an author and a comic book artist, but because of my writers block and my old high school art teacher ruined my dreams. She told me my art was trash and after she said that I quit sketching. I quit being creative like that and I just put more of my time into video games instead. I just didn't have it in me anymore to draw.

Personally, I have a very horrible imagination and I'm pretty over imaginative too. I think it's part of the influence that watching horror movies have imprinted on me. There's nothing that I don't over think and I can imagine the worst possible things in any scenario. It can get very creepy for me sometimes.

Yes, some people may have an overactive imagination. It could have both positive and nagative effects on a person's life. It can either make you a creative, inspired, and empatheic person, or it may have negative effects like anxiety, depression, distraction, insomnia, overthinking, and disconnction from reality.

So, it's important to find a balance between creativity and overactivity in your imagination.

Meditation or seeking guidance from a mental health professional can help such individuals receive the positive aspects of an overactive mind while managing its potential negative effects on their mental well-being and daily lives.

Seriously, I get worked up and worried about how over active I can get with my imagination. Sometimes, I would have myself imagining worst possible ways I would end up dying that it gives me goosebumps. Why in the world would I be thinking about how I'm likely going to die in the most horrible way? It's not healthy at all. I do really think that I need psychological evaluation.

Yes, I have overactive imagination. I have been such since my childhood. I would like to day dream, in fact it is one of my favorite ways to soothe my nerves and calm my mind.
