There's discussion in America right now about the corporate rebrand of one of the biggest retail companies in the world of Walmart. It's a huge clothing, groceries and home store that sells a little bit of everything. Their logo is the iconic "spark" that's come to represent great value.

Other iconic brands include McDonalds, Starbucks, the Nike swoosh logo and more.

Do you think your community or your brand's logo is iconic, to be recognizable to your audience on its own?

I think we all try to find something distinctive to make our sites stand out from another. These are some examples for sites I regularly visit on my iPhone.

They all are fairly distinctive. I do need to work on mine some. You want something attention getting that fits the site.

I have you blocked, but I've seen your post from outside of my account, and I felt the need to clear up something:
Branding is not just about the logo. Branding is not just the font used for the name, or the name itself. Your brand is built by trust by the community.

Microsoft reaches half of the globe with the Windows operating system.
PlayStation reaches half of the gaming market with the console itself, and the games. People trust the brand.
Let's flip that; Xbox is a "brand" but is not even trusted much. The marketshare of Xbox keeps dwindling.
Call of Duty is a resilient brand, and went through 3 years of game releases with downward spirals. Advanced Warfare kinda sold well, but not enough to make a dent. Black Ops 4 bombed somewhat. (IMHO, I hate it because of the spawns. I like the gameplay, but the SPAWNS are TRASH.) Infinite Warfare bombed hard, but I kinda liked it. Especially Multiplayer, but it was panned at launch, so it doesn't have the spotlight it needed.

Right now, we are in another cycle - Modern Warfare 2019 sold so well, that Warzone blew up on launch.
Vanguard kinda panned at launch.
Black Ops Cold War panned at launch, but sold pretty well.
Modern Warfare II (2022) fell so hard, it's the definition of "bombed" at launch.
Modern Warfare III (2023) sold better because of Sledgehammer Games. Positive reception.
Black Ops 6 bombed so hard, it's $20 in some places like Costco.

People do trust Call of Duty, but that is fading little by little. Black Ops 6 is the straw that could break the camel's back. I just told you this is like 10 years of failures.

I think most of us are well aware of what all consists of branding.
Branding (in marketing terms) deals with making or creating of a positive image of a company, its products, and/or services. But the front facing logo construction used in advertising the business/site/whatever bears in the fore for association with the product.
In fact, in the very first post you have this
Their logo is the iconic "spark" that's come to represent great value.....
Do you think your community or your brand's logo is iconic, to be recognizable to your audience on its own?
which deals exactly with logos....
This thread was not how do you market (brand) your site to be distinct from others, but a discussion about having a distinctive logo. It clearly states it is talking about logos in the title.

So I am pretty sure we are talking about using logos for branding aspect here.

One of the big ways to do that is distinctive logos.
You see these and what immediately mind? No names or such have to be given.

They are almost all immediately recognized for what they represent by not even having to see a text of name with them.

But, since you also brought up trust of the community in reference to branding. Can you tell us what Suspended-FTB means in California for LLC's registered with them? Does not claiming something that is not true cause issues with that very trust?
