I live in a rented apartment. I have a small farm house but my farm house is not insured. That’s because even when my farm house is destroyed, there will be no big loss. Therefore, I do not have home insurance. If you own your home, getting home insurance is a good idea. It covers things like theft, fire, and other damage, so you don't have to worry as much about unexpected problems.

I get where you're coming from. If the farm house isn't a big investment or crucial for your livelihood, it might not seem worth insuring. But it's still a good idea to think about homeowner’s insurance for your main residence. Even if you rent, having renters insurance can cover your belongings and provide liability coverage. It's all about weighing the risks and figuring out what's best for your situation. As for finding the best homeowners insurance, it's worth shopping around and comparing policies to get the right fit for your needs.

Insurance provides financial coverage but you will be able to claim the coverage only when something bad happens. If nothing bad happens, you will be just paying the premiums with no immediate benefits. This is the reason why I have not insured my farm house.
