I have multiple sites, but not all of my sites are earning money. Some sites do not earn even a single penny, some sites earn a very small amount. However, I have sites that earn me a good amount of money. I use the revenue not only maintain the expenses for my all sites but also pay my bills.

I don’t make a single penny. It’s a hobby for me, not a business.

Same here... I didn't start my sites up as a "business"... heck, I can make a LOT more in computer forensics than I can running a site or even multiple sites.
I run mine to have somewhere to post in a format I'm comfortable with... and that allows others to come play there if they want to also.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be nice, but tax is an issue here in the UK. Anything I earn must be declared and the govt takes their chuck. It's not worth monetizing.

Only when you go over a specific amount of earnings. I mean if you made £100 they are not going to take that away. Not like it's £5k a month

Yeah. All earnings are rolled into one by HMIC. I earn over £50k+ PA so any other earnings are taxed at 40%. If I made £100 they'd take £40. There's little point in trying to make anything.

And worse part that the money they take away ends up being spent on things to other damn countries and not back into the UK

Que sera sera. I Gave up worrying about where my tax dollars go many years ago!

Earlier I was making some money for writing to pay for the domain renewals and other expenses. Due to high levels of corruption, financial fraud , the government agencies are falsely claiming that their lazy greedy fraud employees who do not pay any money for domains, own my domains to pay them monthly government salaries while I am making great losses in the last years. The top tech and internet companies are also supporting the financial fraud.

At this moment in time none of my sites generate any revenue, so all the money I use for my sites comes out of pocket. I work a decent enough job to make good money, so I don't have to worry much about the cost of paying for my hosting, renewals, etc.

I honestly have questions of those that think they are going to jump into the forum world (or most any type of website) and folks will come running to their site and the money will be rolling in. That train left the station a long time ago... and it's reaching the end of the line. At one time, one of the few niches that could do this was p0rn.... but now you can get plenty of that for free and generally in better quality than what most forums can serve up.
The days of the premiew 2 & 3 letter domains that sell for high dollar are LONG over with... sorry, you are going to have a hard time selling porntalkforum.com for any amount of money.
I started my site because it was something I wanted to do. I'll continue financing it until it reaches the need of several hundred dollars a month to run.. then I MAY think about monetizing it - but that would be with partnerships with vendors and such to sell ads, etc.

Maintaining my sites are not that expensive, but maintaining domain names that don't sell quick is a good chunk on my pocket. I started last month to do some creative thinking to give them more exposure to the end users and giving a high percentage to affiliates per sale or recurring commissions when leased, because using popular auction sites don't sell as quick.

Creating my sites as a hobby at first but I do have that potential they'll start to earn something in the future. It's not my main concern for me, just a nice to have one day.
