When it comes to marketing your site do you ever market yourself or just the business itself? I figure marketing both could be beneficial, especially if the work you do is regarded by the community of people who use your service. Is it wise to market both? Or should you focus on just the business?

Establishing a personal brand and promoting yourself as an authority or expert in your field can help build trust and credibility with your audience. People often appreciate knowing the person behind the business and forming a connection with them.

IN the past when I was trying to build my brand as a freelancer and entrepreneur, I also used to market. I had a portfolio website and also a personal blog that I regularly promoted to promote my self. I also tried hard to rank on search engines., But these days I mainly promote and market my businesses, I no longer promote myself. Interestingly, my real name still gets search hits. LOL

The truth is you have to first market yourself before you market your product. If your focus only on marketing your product without thinking of marketing yourself, it's matter of time before you get kicked out of the market.

It is actually very important for you to once in a while I try to add your face to your business because that will give your business more credibility in a way that those who are patronizing you will have a sense of connection to the business owner because they have seen your face.
