Forum activities statistics plays a very good role in showing everyone who's a member in the forum as well as guests how the forum is doing so far in terms of contents and members who's joined. I've seen some forum where this isn't available and I keep wondering why they got rid of it.

What's your take on enabling your activity statistics?

Yeah I have a tool that shows who's online and all that, how many people are online at the same time, the most user count for a single day, etc. I even have birthday pop-ups when a user's birthday comes around.

Seriously I love this birthday feature that is used in some forum software because it makes members to feel they are always been considered by the forum owner to always remember to do something about their birthday without knowing it is a dedicated software plugin that is doing it. It's a good feature.

Having your activity statistics enabled is good and allows you to see what is working for your forum and what may not be. It also allows you to see how your activity is and whether something you did may have made things better or worse in terms of activity.

I wouldn't always look at my statistics as I feel looking at them too much can make you feel disheartened if things are a little on the slow side but checking every so often can help a lot.

It is always going to look like you are not making much progress especially when your community is still new when you are looking at your statistics on daily basis.

I understand exactly the reason why you wouldn't put yourself to the stress of checking it all the time.

My forums show activities and forum statistics on the footer. The statistics show the last member who joined, recent posts, total members, total posts, total topics, etc. This option has been enabled by default on the forum scripts I am using for my forums. I think enabling stats help you gain some reputation as people can have a better opinion on your community based on the stats.

There are some people who make it a habit of checking the statistics of any website that they join before they start participating in anything that is going on on that platform. This is because if they are not convinced the platform is doing well in terms of content, they don't feel committed to be involved in it.

This transparency can help build trust and credibility among the community by showcasing the forum's vibrancy and participation. Additionally, activity statistics can motivate members to engage more actively, create discussions, and contribute to the overall growth of the forum.

Yeah, that's very correct. It's one of the basic importance of having such statistics lively active on your forum. When your members and visitors can see the progress you're making with your project, they might be pushed to contribute more.

These are great options especially the one that is related to birthdays. There are people that want to be cherished on their birthdays and putting up a thread to celebrate them on their birthdays shows that they feel welcomed on the said site or forum.

There are sometimes when I even forget my own birthday date but when I come up in a forum that have this feature very early in the morning on my birthday, I will be reminded with the notice. It's a very good feature and I love it so much.
