Do you edit members posts or instruct them to do it?

When you notice that a members post isn't up to what's required on your forum, do you go ahead and edit their content and update them on the reason why it's edit or do you send them private messages with regards to that content for them to edit and upgrade it? I find doing the latter to be very stressful to do.

How do you handle this situation?

It depends on what kind of editing the posts need. For minor editing, I ask members to edit the posts. However, sometimes posts need massive editing because it is poorly written, so I do the editing.
