Polls are a kind of program where people cast their vote on a specific topic. You can cast a vote and see the results. Certain times you could see the results without casting a vote and sometimes you may need to vote in order to see the results. So, common is it to conduct polls when it comes to your forums? Do you think that polls should be held or conducted on the forums?

My communities are mainly for discussion, however, I sometimes add polls to see what people choose over some sensitive topics. I have not posted any quizzes or contests. I have no interest in adding quizzes on my communities, however, I want to launch some contests, however, lack of funds is stopping me.

Sure sometimes. It's always nice to ask the community for their opinions. Sometimes it's a good way to get discussions going. other times it can be used to get an idea of what your community likes, dislikes, and to vote on site changes and all that.

Polls add a lot.

Try and reach out to potential sponsors who might be interested in supporting your contest. This could be companies or brands relevant to your community's niche. They might be willing to provide prizes or financial assistance in exchange for exposure to your community.

The reason why this is very important in my opinion is that it helps you to carry everyone along in terms of what goes on and change that you want to bring into your community. This is so that everyone will feel like they are part of what the developments in the community is all about.
