Do you charge your smartphone as you go to bed at night?

It seems a little risky to me, therefore I've never trusted leaving my smartphone charging in that manner. If the smartphone had an automatic shut-off feature after it was fully charged. Do you really think your smartphone is going to blow up?

Before I go to bed I make sure my phone is fully charged, I do not keep my phone charged and then go to bed. I have a habot of checking social media before I go to sleep
