Do you ban the use of ChatGPT on your forum?

I do not allow AI-generated content to be posted in my communities. AI-generated content is frowned upon by search engines. Your content will not rank on SERP, therefore, you will not get any organic traffic. If you do not get organic traffic, what is the point of running a website?

I believe that anybody who wants to create content for public consumption should be very big on originality and collectivism. You can use artificial intelligence to generate ideas but you do not have to lift everything it suggest.

I know a lot of forums that does not allow the use of AI generated content on the website because they believe that it doesn't add any value when it comes to helping the website to rank on Google.

It is why they don't approve their members making use of it to post contents on the site. I won't allow it either on my forums.

I think it's disingenuous to use it for your personal forum posts. I feel like you should write from your heart and own mind when posting on most forums. I think it's fine to utilize to help correct writing in articles, and such, but I think forum topics/replies, not so much. Just feels weird to me.

But, I don't mind the use of AI to help find new ideas for topics to post.

AI-generated content can be useful in certain contexts but it's important to prioritize quality and originality in order to maintain a strong online presence and ensure better search engine rankings. It's always beneficial to prioritize content that is human-created, relevant, and engaging to enhance the overall user experience and increase your chances of success in the long run.

My observation recently is that a lot of people are now becoming very lazy when it comes to writing content on their own, which is why they have now resorted to making use of artificial intelligence to generate their contents. It is only few people that try as much as they can to change some certain things in the content that they generated using artificial intelligence.

Do you ban the use of ChatGPT on your forum? Personally, I would, but i'm not sure how one would go about enforcing this? Is there some sort of add-on to enforce such a ban?

I don't like it and won't feel comfortable with anyone who is using AI generated content on my forum. If I am in a good mood, I will send a warning and, in some cases, ban you right away. I like it when members are themselves and are always willing to make quality, original content.

I am completely in support of making use of artificial intelligence to find new ideas and topics that you want to develop the content yourself to publish on your website and not using it to actually generate the content and post it without even make an adjustment to it.
Yes, I agree with your point. We must use AI like chatgpt to save our research time and get new ideas, but we shouldn't just copy and paste that AI-generated content. We must use those ideas in our own words to make it human-generated by adding our own knowledge as well.

The moment artificial generated contents are not rewritten by those who are making use of it, it is definitely not going to add anything that is going to be beneficial to your website ranking because such content doesn't have the capacity of being recognised by Google in a way that is going to help your website to rank.

That is the point. It is always seen as a lazy approach to building a community. I mean why would anyone want to ruin the goals of the forum or website by dropping AI generated contents on the website? It is simply an act that deserves a ban.

Personally, I believe that it is as a result of this issue of copying and pasting exactly what have been generated making use of artificial intelligence by some community members is the reason why most webmasters are strictly against allowing making use of such content on their website.

I think most webmasters prefer human and therefore organic content that will attract advertisers to their website, AI-generated content is predictable and doesn't generate value in most cases, it's easy to recognize when a person is using AI when you're used to dealing with that type of content on a daily basis.

I wouldn't say that I ban the use of ChatGPT on my forums but I do not endorse it either. I would much rather those who came onto my forums to be active and use their own content rather than taking it from AI and then copying and pasting and it will help forums a lot more when more people do that.

Unfortunately, with AI and ChatGPT being so freely available now, it's something we are going to see happen.
