Do you allow your family at work?

They can get distracted and this may also have a bad effect on the flow of work. This is why they may not prefer workers to interact with their family members. However, this also depends on the designation. Bosses usually have more power and they may meet their family members at work.

Exactly! The moment you're not thinking straight at work because your focus and attention have been diverted to your family and friends that came visiting you at work, it's certain that your work output is going to drop until your visitors are gone. There's no way you can serve two masters at once.

I think that there are many other reasons why your boss may never allow your family members to meet you. If they allow family members to come and meet workers at the workplace, then they may think that there is nothing wrong with doing that and they may develop it a habit of doing that.

It is not even about your family members developing a habit of coming to visit you at work all the time. The real bone of contention is how their visit is going to affect your job. When it is something that is always having you distracted because they are round, it will definitely impact on your work output and this is something that is detrimental to the company in general.
