My blog posts are open to commenting, however, I manually moderate comment. I will approve comment only after screening the comment. I also do not allow suspicious links to be shared with the comment. Normally, I remove comments that do not add value to the discussion. Do you allow commenting on your blog posts?

Why don't you have a blog? If you don't want to spend money to build a blog, you can try free blogging platforms.

It is wise to accept comments in your blog posts. They add value in increasing the site traffic and rank higher in search engines. It is good as you moderate your blog posts comments to know the ones adding positive to the topic at hand or not.

If ever launch my blog, I will surely allow commenting. Commenting creates engagement on the post. Comments are actually free contents.

You made an interesting point. Comments are free content. However, if you are allowing comments, you need to allow only useful and interesting comments.

To keep your site clean, no one should posts trash or spam your forum with copy and paste contents.

I allow comments but I manually approve comments. Sometimes I even edit comments and remove suspicious links.

Yes, in order to get comments, your content need to be highly engazing and interesting, something that a lot of people can relate.

On my hubpages articles I have a lot of comments. One of my hubpages articles even had 300 comments. Your content need to be useful and interesting to drive comments.

So, you had 300 comments in one article? what was the article about? Were all comments useful, or were there spam comments as well?

The article was about the head scarf worn by women in different cultures. It was published on hubpages. That's the number of comments I approved.

So, you created content on a controversial topic and was able to drive a lot of comments, and also the traffic. Were there any hate comments?

I love blogs where you can give your opinion and learn from the comments left by users. I think the right way is the way you describe in the thread, as many people leave meaningless and uninteresting comments.

If I were to start a blog, I would definitely allow commenting. I would manually view them though. I have seen many abandoned blogs where I leave comments but they never get approved because the blog was abandoned by the owner and he is no longer active on his own blog. This means he or she is no longer viewing comments so that they could approve them.

Of course I do allow commenting and posting on my blog because I have come to discover that I can't do all the work on my blog by myself so I do allow people to comment and post on my blog because I believe so much in public created contents.

That's the value of a blog, been able to control who post and who doesn't, screening post and removing suspicious links and comment that does not add value to the blog post,

Sometimes moderation of a blog took a long time of moderation so you may have to bring moderation team to divide moderation of comment work especially if blog is popular and there are a lot of spammer that are cherishing to pass spam comment between hundred of comment hoping they are approved by error.
