Do you allow affiliate links?

Advertisement Placeholder
I allow all types of links with exception of monetizing links like ad.fly and similar. I allow referral links, because I see no harm in them as long as they're not spammed all over the board.

Do you allow members to use affiliate links in their signatures or in posts (as long as they are relevant to the thread)? Explain your reasoning.

Of course I allow them. I use affiliate links myself ;) I see no harm in using them. Provided they are on topic, and is a meaningful link to the thread, then sure. If users are going to just post the links everywhere that would not be an appropriate spot, then I will consider it as spam.

If a user wants to know say where they can find a script for a certain thing, and another users leads them the way to a site that has one that can be purchased. If a affiliate link is used or not, the person will be checking out the site. There is no harm in using that affiliate link to the board, linker, or the OP (Clicker).

I think they should be allowed provided that the user also gives a non-affiliate link option underneath (even if it is in small font). That way users can decide whether or not to thank the member for their post and signup via their affiliate.
