Do keywords still matter?

Do you feel that keywords are less useful these days? Do they still matter? I don't really know. I feel like these days, we have semi-keywords, which happen to be the likes of hashtags. For the most part, I don't see keyboards being as useful otherwise. Please do correct me if I'm wrong though.

The hashtags are also keywords. The word you call hash tags on social media is generally referred to as tags on website. These tags are the keywords that try to identify the topic of your content.

Yes key words matters alot and are still very important and necessary, I believe matter the amount of development that's comes up, keywords would still be in use.

If you are trying to generate traffic from search engines, keywords really matter as keywords usage is the main method to get ranked on search engine results and get traffic. If you do not want to get traffic from search engines you can do without it.

Off course, key words still matter, they help get faster result when one is searching for something on the internet. I feel like harsh tags could also be referred to as key words.

I think keywords matter. However, the big winners in SEO are not overly concerned about them, I think. The overall plan is so powerful that keywords would be a small thing. I'm not sure, though. I would check again.
