Do houses in your country have fences?

Every house in my country has a fence because of so many cases of robbery and not only that. Everyone would like to have a clear zone where their house ends. However, I have often seen in American films that many houses do not have this and are so comfortable. What is the situation in your country?

Not all houses in my country or area have fences, but many of them, burglaries are not so common here, but still houses are usually protected.

Fences are common in our part of the world as well but fences actually do not stop robbers, they can stop genuine people and stray animals
