I feel like debate is a big thing at most forums. Each forum I have gone to there are debate sections, at least when it comes to a forum about everything. I don't usually go into debate sections as I know if I tried to argue my points, I'd get eaten alive haha. With that being said, do you think that debate sections of forums get the most traffic? Or usually get a decent amount of traffic?

I have been a member and an active member of debate forums and they do seem to take off pretty well. I feel with debate forums, it is a place where someone can let off some steam, have a rant and debate about things that they are interested in or things that are happening in the world and they tend to feel better about it being able to get that out.

As long as there are rules in place and everyone respects each other and their opinions, a debate forum can work out quite well.

In my forums, I do not have any debate sections. However, I have been on multiple forums where there were debate sections and the topics on these sections brought a lot of activities. However, it also depends on the topics, for instance, debates round racism, religions, politics usually bring heated discussion.

Heated discussions around topics such as religion, politics and racism is why debates exist. There are also those that debate seriously around sports and sporting events. So, these forum owners that have debate section pick out topics that will generate more reaction and put it up for debate.

The debate section can also create a lot of controversy because when it comes to debating on religion or politics, people do not agree any everyone has his or her own opinion. However, you also need members who have deep understanding or topics to participate in this section.

The last debate forum I used was Debatehq.net. There were so many controversial topics open for discussion in the community. It's what the community was built for and it's getting the traffic it's after. If you find users who are like minds with debates in the community, activities will be steady on the forum.
