Illustrator is an editor for vector graphics and single-page documents. The classic use case would be creating a logo
InDesign is a document editor. The classic use case would be a magazine or a book.

Does this allow for a brief, yet easy understanding of the difference between the two softwares and their choice of use .?

I like the way you illustrate the design for different work for designing. Graphics is a promising work and it tends to make designer more creative and smart in all spheres of life

I think inDesign for the print and web brochure and the other print elements are done with it. And so you are going to be designing the desktop publishing items using the software. Whereas the illustrator you can see that it is meant for designing the elements like icon, art, vector art and similar other types of the items for the design.

Illustrator is capable of creating multi-pages projects but indesign is the superior multi-page option, indesign has a master page option, which allows user to edit numerous pages without editing them individually

Illustrator has cool features, i think one of the major advantage is that you can scale your images without affecting the resolution of the said image. InDesign is better because you can create multiple layouts across different pages and yes it is best for magazines, etc.
