Designing Your Own Website Vs Hiring a Web Designer

If you are a professional web designer and developer it is obvious that you will design your own website, however, if you are not a professional designer/developer but have some designing/developing skills what would you do: hire a professional designer or design your website?

I am asking this question because 5 years ago, when I was ready to launch my first website, I had rudimentary web designing skills. I was faced with a dilemma whether to hire a pro or try myself. I wanted to hire a pro, I even talked with a couple of web designer, however, they were asking more than what I could afford. I had to do it myself

Five years on, I not only design my websites, but also make money by offering my web designing services.

Since I do not have any skills, it would be a better option to hire a designer. However, website designing in my place cost at least $300 which is a lot of money, I would love to learn and design my own website.

If I have my way and I can handle the web designing properly then I'll prefer designing my own website by myself. This is because it will be easier for me to building the website to my taste and perfectly put everything in place.

If you can do it better, you can do it to sage cost but if you are not that perfect, you can hire someone to do it for you and you try to learn it too from the person to be saving your costs.

This is good, i have plans similar ti these and currently that is why i am learning more about website designs and development to know how to design a website

In the early years of the new millennium I was learning Dreamweaver for an easier way to create and maintain a website. But when our organization needed a website I did not have the courage to do it myself. Besides, it is hard work so I preferred to hire a designer. It is actually our boss who contracted a firm to do the design and maintenance. At least the site has a professional look.

I have always designed and developed my own websites as it's something that I enjoy doing anyway. So for me it's something I don't even think twice about, I just do it myself. I think it can be quite hard initially though, so if you're new or don't have much practice it can be a tough thing to get into. However once you're at a level where you know a lot, it's much better to make your own websites.

Yeah that is very true. If you can do the website designing on your own, it will certainly save you a lot of money instead of hiring someone to do the designing for you

On top worst thing is you can't make changes in later on as it will cost you extra money and I know it always expansive to run a website and if you keep making changes in design, you may end up with high bill.

depends on if you have time or not, if you do, then designing on your own is the best thing to do, you will learn a new skill and you will make your website based on your own preferences

Yeah exactly it depends or your skills, knowledge and competency on website creation that actually determines it .If you are well skilled and competent you can manage and do it your self but if not you will do otherwise.

If you have the ability to design a good website then definitely go ahead but if you don't have the skills then you could definitely give it out to experts
