It is always advisible to consider hiring a professional web designer especially when your web design skills are not exactly top-notch. Of cause that would be the obvious choice, it's like a professional graphic designer giving another graphic designer a contract to help him create a logo for his business. You will discover that they will never really do it to your taste, simply because you can also do it and you have ideas

I think you can go to Fiverr and hire a professional web developer for a very reasonable price. It is better for your website to look professional because it will retain more traffic.

I am asking this question because 5 years ago, when I was ready to launch my first website, I had rudimentary web designing skills. I was faced with a dilemma whether to hire a pro or try myself. I wanted to hire a pro, I even talked with a couple of web designer, however, they were asking more than what I could afford. I had to do it myself

Five years on, I not only design my websites, but also make money by offering my web designing services.

I’ve always done it myself because I couldn’t afford hiring one. I’ve learned a lot doing it but I still don’t know as much as I could. My skills are limited so I still need to hire a freelancer to do certain things every so often. Usually graphics.
