Flower design cross-stich

Cross stitching is one of the easiest forms of embroidery to learn and therefore makes for a great hobby especially for beginners of the skill. You can buy cross stitch kits that come equipped with everything you need, including the pattern you’re expected to cross stitch. But you can also come up with your own cross stitching projects if that’s what you prefer; all you need for that is fabric, thread and some other basic supplies.

Do you have any interest in this hobby?

When I was younger my Mum used to do a lot of cross-stitching and it was something she got me into, I used to spend hours doing a cross stitch of my favorite characters and my mum would even take photos of things I enjoyed and use a program she had to make a cross-stitch pattern so that I could follow it and turn the photo into a cross-stitch. It really is very easy to cross stitch once you know how to do it and the more you do it and see the creations you have made, the more you will want to continue and do more. I don't do it as much as I used to now due to my work but given the chance, I would go back to it if I had the time.

To me it sounds like an old lady hobby. Maybe I should stock up on some kits in case the power goes out. :p

I definitely see it as an old lady hobby. I can remember that the last time I stitched anything that was a cloth was when I was still in high school. It was when we did a project on home economics that I had to stitch in order for me to pass the project. I have never done it again after high school.

The real problem is knowing how to do it and it requires a high level of patience and commitment for someone to master it. My sister have always been the kind of girl who never relaxes to do anything. She couldn't learn how to do cross stitching. Our mother tried her best and left her alone.
