Creating a forum community from scratch - A step by step guide for beginners

I see these days everyone is talking about forum community and many people are earning well through it. My question is, how as a beginner, I can start my own forum? Do I need to have my own blog or website first then create a separate section for the forum community? Please guide me about all the necessary steps.

There are times that people have started off straight with a forum and they have been successful without the need for a blog so i don't think that it is a prerequisite.

You can use self hosted forum services like forum motion to create forums for free. Your forum will be ready within a couple of minutes, everything is prebuilt, yo do not have to do anything, you only need to customize. However, if you do not like free forums, you can use open source platforms like SMF or MyBB or premium software like Xenforo to create forums. YOu need a domain and hosting.
