Are covid related domains popular these days? I feel like a lot of people are banking on this pandemic and are looking to make sites on it to make money. Many have already sprung up, but there are likely to be a lot more of them. But, with the pandemic ending, there may be less of it. What do you think?

After a broad review of websites using coronavirus-related domain names, specifically coronavirus, covid19, covid-19, sars-cov-2 and sarscov2, we found that we could not verify the authenticity of over 80% of websites presented as government websites.
Of the 303 websites surveyed, 90 (or nearly 30%) had unverified information and nearly half were squatting domains or ‘under construction.’
Government websites providing its citizens with life-critical coronavirus-related information should not be subject to this ambiguity, and should therefore not share the top-level domain name space with non-governmental individuals or entities. This finding will be critical in establishing trusted communication channels between governments and their citizens during this crisis.

There are so many domain extensions that can be used for Corona virus. Alot of people have started using such domains because it's very popular and could get lots of traffic.

I guess the pandemic is a continuing hype in the internet such that I won't be surprised if a covid related domains are popular. Maybe that popularity of covid can help the domains related to covid as long as the contents are also directly related to covid and the pandemic era.

Convid 19 related domains are actually in high demand right now due to the pandemic that we are experiencing and so many organisations are looking forward to buying these kinds of domains.

Covid-19 related domains are only popular to the health services personals and companies or organisation. I don't see it's popularity among non health individuals

During the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, citizens have been attempting to obtain critical information and directives from official government websites. These are usually hosted on top-level domains, such as coronavirus.mx. There is no reliable mechanism to verify these websites’ authenticity, and the space is also shared by commercial entities selling related (or not) products and advertisements. This loophole is an urgent information security and misinformation problem that can be resolved by registering websites under restricted second-level domains or adopting existing methods of domain registrant identification.

I read about a guy saying he was at to see this domain curevirus.com to someone and this shows that Covid related domains with good keywords would definitely sell off.

Though it's not just about getting a name that's related to the virus. If you realize that the name won't be useful in years to come, it is better not to go for it at all.

I remember there's this facebook page that provides information on covid then during the pandemic and it was in high demand then because people wanted to know but now it seems to be irrelevant.

I think domains using the word covid are very popular these days, I always wonder what will happen to these domains when Covid will vanish? Will they have any value?

Of course, there are Covid19 pandemic related domains and a lot of people have made money sending it because it is the new trend.

Covid 19 has made domain popular and its spreading like fire on all the internet lately , for example words like pandemic , covid -19 , corona virus .and you can search those names on the government radar.

When Covid began spreading, and people were looking for relevant information, I though registering a domain with Covid keyword and building a website would be lucrative, but I never started.

I think the pandemic has to some extent ended and reach it peak of global influence in the world economy but has left an inbuilt blueprint that most of the areas it has affected can never be revive or change in any form most especially the digital marketing, and the online business stuffs.

they were back when covid was still a scary new thing, also back when there was no vaccine or anything like that, but now, it's slowly fading out

They covid-19 pandemic was probably the most searched keyword on various platforms in 2020. So creating a domain relating to it will be lucrative.

Yes it is expected that this covid-19 related to domain names are going to be in the health related services and companies because Covid-19 is a public health crisis.

I am not sure but I heard that some domain registrars forbade people registering a domain with covid in it because of the possibility of spreading false information.
