Have you ever run a competition on a website you manage? How did it go, and what was it for? Did you give away prizes?

I've held posting competitions on a few forums I ran in the past to increase activity. I gave away $25, $20, and $15 respectively to the top three users who made the most posts in a certain amount of time. Typically the competition lasted for two weeks. They were all successful!

Well I am currently running a competition on my forum basically to increase activity. I am paying $100 cash for the person who wins. We are having 10 people competing for the prize and increasing slowly.

Competitions are very good. There is this one forum that i am active on called bizdustry and they have had a competition in the past and it seems to have been quite successful.

I think that you are talking about free giveaways. I guess that there are many people who tend to give away free rewards to many active users and winners on the site. I have never done that or participated in such giveaways.

I don't own a website, therefore, I have never started competition. ON a few forums I have visited, the owner ran competition to improve engagements, I participated but did not win.

I think that offering giveaways and incentives to the members is one of the best ways to make visitors come to your website again and again. I also plan to start a website where I would be offering incentives to random members as well. This would encourage people to stay on my website.

There are a very websites that run competition for freelancers and award them when they get qualified or win the competition. I think that it could be cool to set up a contest just like that.

The competition is excellent.
I participate in a certain forum called "bizdustry," where they once had a contest that seemed to be quite successful.

I have been a part of a few forums where the admin had started contests to encourage members to remain active. I have own contests multiple times. I have even won contests 4 times in a row in the same forum.
