Which domain extension do you prefer? As for myself I prefer the .com because in my opinion it makes the website look more credible and professional. .net to me seems like an alternative domain name.

Which do you prefer, .com or .net?

.com of course, not only does it look more professional, but Google likes .coms better.

.com. It sounds much more professional to be honest and a lot of the bigger sites (Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) use it so yeah professional wise though .net isn't bad at all.

I always prefer .com domain because they have good value in seo and quick flipping in search engines. I had register my .com domain at cheap rates from 9CubeHosting.com

I go for dot com only when I get the name of my choice or I get small domains (hopefully a two-word domain). I don't try dot com if I cannot get a domain with SEO value. When I cannot get a dot com, my obvious choice would be dot net, or dot info.

The choice between .com and .net depends on the specific purpose and goals of your website. The choice between .com and .net depends on factors such as branding, availability, and the specific nature of your website.

I will always prefer .com but when it is not an option, .net is the second best choice in most cases. I think as more sites are created, .com will stop being the standard but this will take another decade or two before we see things really change.

Well, that's not true. These days people use all sorts of domain extensions irrespective of website niche. You can see people even using org domains for commercial sites. If you check website using dot net and dot com, you will not see any big difference. Dot come and dot net were launched at the same time and these extensions are appropriate for all kinds of websites.

I don't mind using either .com or.net when it comes to a domain extension but where I can use .com that is the one I go for first.

I have in the past had a .net and a .com pointing to the same site and that is always ideal if you are able to get the same domain under both extensions.

In the past, I was using multiple domain extensions for my domains (so that I could protect my brand), however, in the long run, it because an expensive affair and now I have stopped buying multiple extensions for my domains.

.com for sure, however if it’s taken and you’re in the network niche then .net will do just fine
