Is it conceivable to sue a scam website? I mean the domain enlistment is something public right? You can discover who enrolled the domain and where they are put together and from that point with respect to you can record a claim against them?
Is it possible?
And do you know Anyone who has successfully done it?

Any thought folks?

Yes, if the owner of the website is residing in your country of residence, you can sue the owner of the scam website and recoup all the capital you lost on the scam website, but it will be hard for you to sue the owner of a scam website if you reside in different country different from where the owner of the website is living.

That's if you know the owner of the scam website. Scammers are very smart so they create websites with fake identity, email and phone number. It's very easy to register proxy companies in some countries so scammers take advantage of that.

It is hard to sue a scam website owner, because how hidden those scam website owner can be. Sometimes they hide their location and avatar when they create a site. You can only sue a scam site when you reside on same location with the scammer or you know his address of residence, then you can sue him.

Most scam sites I have visited don't have the owners listed on them, most of ones it's an anonymous site when I check for whois for the domain details but you can report fraudulent website to the different internet crime complaint center or maybe your the federal authorities.

You can sue a scam website only if you know the owner of the website. If you have solid and verifiable evidence, you can take the matter to court and the scammer will be forced to return your money.
However if the identity of the scammer is hidden, then you might not be able to sue him to court.

Security check is important on your account always. Contact your Banks immediately and Credit Card Companies.Reach Out to the Credit Bureaus.Submit a Complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.File a Police Report.
Monitor your card.

There are some cases when scamming website owners got jailed, but that's rare, now, that's the problem, if people had this ability, scamming websites could disappear and online money making could be fair and better

It's always difficult to catch scammers unless if the scammers is not too experienced and he is just coming. It is very difficult to sue scammers, they ensure that no traces of their identity is received. Just be careful if them simple

It is very difficult, if not impossible, for you to make such a claim, and other members have commented that it is more feasible if you live in the same country. I can comment that I read a thread where someone did not receive payment from a website, they made a public complaint on Trustpilot, in this way the person managed to recover their earnings.

Sure thing

It should be possible to sue the owners of a scammed website and the website itself. But it is going to be difficult when there was no contract signed between you too from the beginning. He might even be unreachable.

That will be a tedious process and it's not worth the stress..... This scammers conceal their identity so well that the chances of catching them could be only 1%....its better you just move on and next time you try to more careful

Most of the companies don't use payment systems that are accepted and traceable easily,PayPal and visa or bank card can help you report any fraudulant activity. So if your transaction with that site passed through that then you can file your complaint and you may very likely be helped

I feel most scammers always cover their tracks using fake credentials, so, it may be quite difficult to even have any trace of them talk less of suing them. However, you may be fortunate if they got traced.

It is hard for you to trace owners of fake website. That's why we don't need to be giving vital information on any website we lay our hands on. But if the owner is caught, they can be sued in a competent law court.

You can sue the scam website and its owners as long as:
the website owner is a real person that can be booked by law
the website and the owner both are based in your country
In case these two options do not apply, you cannot sue. What you can do is write to the webhost of the company and tell them about the illegal activities the website owner is involved in. This can help.

I think you can sue the website owners if you have their credentials. However, there's a great chance that they have created a website using fake identity, fake information during registration. I doubt that you can trace them as scammers are smart to cover their tracks.

Anyone who wants to commit fraud is hiding their real identity and you cannot sue unless you have their original bio data.Sometimes the scammer leaves some traces that we can catch to reach this scammer But most of the chances are that it will not be identified.

Yes you can sue a scam site and its owner, if the owner of the site resides in your country then you can sue the owner of the site and recover all your lost money on the site but if the owner reside in another country, it will be difficult
