Can you make good money with airdrops?

I've participated in a few airdrops, and I've made a handful of dollars with them, but never anything substantial, I've heard people say that they've even made $8000 with airdrops, but, is this possible? Where are these types of airdrops located? Is it luck or is there a chance to get into these airdrops?

As a Bitcoin holder I often get airdrops and hardfok, especially from Coinbase, Blockchain and Coinpayments wallets, of course if added up as a whole it has reached thousands of USD, but since being active in Telegram airdrops starting from Tapswap which turned out to be a scam, even though there are some that are legit but I am very disappointed to only get a few dollars for a very long period of time.
