I don't know how feasible it's going to be to sue forum owners. This is because most forums are run their project without real identities of the owners which makes it very difficult to sue whom you can't identify. It's why I feel that some forum owners end up scamming members and get away with it because they can't be traced to be held accountable.

I don't think it's possible for you to sue owners of forums, at least I'm speaking from the experience of living in a third world country and we are limited to so many things but it could be possible in other places.

Unless the forum is a registered business entity, a forum cannot be suited. However, you can file cases with the site's web hosts or even Google and take the site down or block form search engines.

In rare cases, forum owners may be sued. For example, if a forum owner is determined to be responsible for slanderous accusations published by a member on their site, they might be responsible for the harm caused. Furthermore, forum owners may be sued for copyright infringement.
