They get traffic on their website and then sell them.

I am sure, the more popular the domain name is, the more chances are that it will sell for really good price. Have you ever sold domain and made money? Domain flipping refers to getting domains and then trading domains for a high value. I am sure that this is not as easy as it sounds.
