So far its looking pretty great. I loooove the 2x2 grid for the boards. Great use of white space and a refreshing break from conventional forum layouts.

I'm personally not a fan of that column layout. It's pretty cluttered up, I think. Something that requires a little more scrolling would be fine. It's just too much in not enough space. Your footer could be downsized a little. If you space out the "Home", "About", "Forums", etc. horizontally, the footer would be much smaller.

Also, that theme is the exact one that used here: http://politicaldebateforums.com/. I'd recommend you customize yours a little more, to stand out a little.
