I need a new desk. I've needed one for a while, but I definitely need one now. My dang keyboard tray keeps falling off, and the wood is pretty damaged all together. Which is a better route to go? Buy the materials and build my own custom desk (I have experience with building things) or just throwing down a couple 100 bucks for one that comes from a store?

You can get the exact desk that you want though and that suits the room. If you have the time and can do it, it would be an interesting project.

That's the route I've been thinking of going with, but my worry is I'll end up with a shit desk. I can build and all that, but if I mess one thing up, then the whole desk is probably going to be a bit wacky.
I recently built a cage for my birds. It could have gone wrong and I might have ended up paying more than just a ready-made cage. But who cares, its fun to do and gladly everything was ok when I was finished. I have to do something about the doors though! Some paint job also needs to be done. All that, is for the next month.

oh nice nice. You got any pictures?

And yeah, I think I'll probably build my next desk. At least then I can make it as epic and big as I want, and give it a nice stain.
