I prefer a laptop it is much better but since you are saying for children I prefer you just buy them a phone. You can buy them a laptop once they are old enough to take care of it. Children should learn to play outside and do normal stuff because they can easily get addicted to using gadgets.

Buying desktop for children will be much more better because you will be monitoring them very closely with it and you can even buy a palmtop for them because that one is better and much better.
