You’re offered a chance to race a person (who is selected at random) from anywhere in the world in a 1-mile race. If you win, you walk away with a $100 million. But if you lose, your legs will be amputated.

The opponent could be anyone—an elderly person, a newborn, a casual jogger, or even a high school track star. Every living human is eligible.

So, would you take the gamble?
