I work as a software developer.

I'm quite happy with that... been working at my current company for nearly 10 years now. It's quite small, but it's a friendly environment!

Software for housing associations - so, it enables them to make sure all their tenants are paying up on time; all their properties are in a good state of repair; all their unoccupied properties aren't losing too much money; and so on.
