Nice. I have a BS in Criminal Justice. My master focuses in emergency management and anti-terrorism type studies.

Are you using these degrees in real life or have you?
My Master’s was the Criminal Justice System. Thesis in ‘Theoretical explanations of historical and contemporary crime causations’ with the emphasis on recidivism. A long time ago. I’m retired now, but used the other two degrees in teaching social and political science.
Various diplomas I picked up along the way got me a job in mental health management for a while. Hated every minute of that! :)

I couldn't do mental health.

I have two masters. One is an MBA, I use it the most.

What do you do to stay active in retirement?
Post on FAF! ;) Keep up with posts on education sites and publishing articles on various international political sites, p/t volunteer and waiting for someone like Jeff Bezos and the like to offer me a management role at £30 ($36) an hour instead of a minimum wage job stacking shelves at Wallmart! :)

I used to have two online resumes, one international one and one focusing on the UK when I returned. It wasn’t long before I scrapped the UK one. All I got was emails and phone calls usually from employment agencies offering me 50 hours a week at a minimum wage with factory work that required the physical stamina of a twenty year old! Abroad, employers looked for education and experience, in the UK they were looking for people who could jump about for 10+ hours a day when and as required. The gig economy.

I also realized that I was getting as much on a state pension with all the add-ons as someone who was doing minimum wage work because I don’t pay tax or National Insurance contributions on a pension. Why would I work for nothing to pay someone’s mortgage and bonuses?

Chatting about nothing in particular recently whilst in Asda (Wallmart) with one of the managers, I was offered a job at £10.97 ($13.31) per hour. I politely declined, but said I would work for what he was getting. That brought the conversation to a rapid halt. :)
