Are metals regarded as profitable assets?

I'm curious as to what other investors at the same level those with little resources and expertise think of it. However, I do not view these metals as a profitable asset because I am aware of their low profitability and the fact that they have historically been used as a means of preserving capital against inflation. I intend to purchase these metals in person rather than through a broker in order to try to protect some money from inflation for a long time to come.

Investing in natural resources like metal can be highly profitable because the demand for these products will continue to grow in the future. Not just precious metals like gold and silver, even investing in iron ore can be profitable.
