I am thinking of starting my own forum when I start getting good returns from my online business, in the future.

But I am really concerned about whether or not these forums are profitable to the owners as it is not easy to start and grow a forum without getting something in return.

What do you think?

I have a forum. If I did not believe that forums cannot be profitable, I would have never attempted to create and run a forum. I have been blogging for a while and I would continue concentrating on blogging instead of running a forum. However, in order to profit from forums, you need to work really hard.

Forum is profitable but people do not know how it is profitable. A forum can be a hub to store your work on a hidden section about writing articles on online writing platforms and if the article is not approved you publish it on your forum for plagiarism concerns.

Any such forum would need a huge amount of traffic. However, wherever there are people, money should follow. Anyway, of course, this whole situation is huge challenge for someone with a low or regular income.

Well, another thing along with traffic is material. A lot of material would be needed and that's also probably going to be a challenge for most people.

I have never really made a forum with the intent to earn from it. I just like having and hosting communities centered around my interests. I feel like a forum could earn but it would have to be a specific niche and you would have to earn within the forum itself. Paid upgrades, access to special private sections, and so on.

Earning from a forum takes a lot of effort and dedication and doesn't just happen overnight. You need to ensure you have all the settings correct and ensure users don't take advantage of any incorrect settings. Also reaching out to bigger companies in an effort to have them advertise on your platform is beneficial.

If you have 5-10K users on your platform and everything goes smoothly without having any issue then having a forum could be profitable.
Some niches are more profitable and bring more traffic than the other ones. You need to do complete research on that too.

The big ones, probably. But the majority of forums won't be profitable because it's extremely hard to generate any income from them. Unfortunately, ads aren't as effective with companies not paying as much and most users using ad blockers. Premium memberships can help but those are always hard to sell.

Probably the big hosting forums charge mostly for bumping threads. That would get around ad blockers. I could be wrong, though.

Forum can be profitable only if there is a proper management and funding. Its not so easy to profit from it quickly but with patience and persistency one can still make good profit out of it .

A forum is a good way to promote yourself or your product or services. Try to start a forum that you are very passionate about. Keep your forum interesting, and discuss current and trending topics. Always engage and interact with your members, happy posting.

I think that forums can be extremely profitable if you have a good number of members that are active on the forum and also if you are able to get people to engage with teh ads that are on the forum as well.

It might take a long time before your forum can be profitable. You need thousands of daily traffic and hundreds of daily posts in order to earn form your forum, reaching there can be really difficult.

Forums can be profitable if you can get the traffic and membership base up. And depending on which niche your forum is in. Some niches make less and some can make more. You need to devote a lot of time to the forum to make it work.

They can be profitable, but in most cases they usually aren't. Most forums tend to be companions to another website. Like most gaming forums will have a gaming site attached to it where you can read breaking gaming news every day or week. So I think in some ways, you can make money from forums, but you need to combine it with other sites, like a main site or something.

That of course doesn't mean you can't make money from a forum alone. Bizdustry is a forum that works in this way. I don't think it has a main site, or does it?

Yes, forums are profitable. If they are not, we are not meant to be seeing forums today. It may need a lot of work before you can become successful with a forum. It's not like blogs because blogs can rank easily more than forums and this gets to make blogs pay off better than forums.

Personally, I believe that forums are still profitable today because there are still so many of them that are considered the best in the sector which are making a good amount of money for the owner.

I believe that Bizdustry still doing alright on its own because from the looks of things that have been going on for the past few months, it is a very good proof and there is being a very big progress on the community.
