Facebook groups have added Anonymous posting, but where staff and owners can see who the poster is. Do you think a similar feature would be warranted on forums?

I can see it perhaps in a self-help, or perhaps asking opinions. Of course I don't fully see the need on an admin forum, but I understand sometimes people want to build relationships under a username, but still have things they want to post not related to their name.

I always figure if you don’t want it attributed to your name or at the very least your username, then perhaps you shouldn’t be posting it.

Of course exceptions apply to that as you mentioned, self-help questions and the like, but generally posting on forums is pretty anonymous anyway.

We have something similar on Christianity Haven for our Ask a Pastor feature. Members can post in a hidden forum and only the two Admins can see who posted and then we'll make sure the post is okay and doesn't violate any of our rules. From there I'll copy the post and post it from a special account so it's anonymous.
