What do people recommend to watch in terms of anime movies and tv shows?

I’d recommend Slayers. It’s an awesome fantasy comedy series. And of course Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal.

I would recommend watching Blue Eye Samurai. It was an anime TV show that was released last year 2023. It was absolutely incredible. They already working on season 2.

Those are quite a good recommendations. I haven't watched most of them on the list. I'll see which one I'm going to pick out soon to start watching.
