There was a forum I wanted to join recently but upon my registration, I keep getting the notification my email address have been banned by the administrator. I kept wondering what would have been the cause of this because it's my first time of experience this kind of thing. It's different from having your account banned or your registration declined.

What could be the cause of this?

How many times did you try to sign up? Maybe the site caught too many attempted sign-ups and any future one using said email was banned. They could have also IP banned you, so you might just be getting all of your emails banned when you try to sign up.

Do you have the admins email address? If the site has a contact area, reach out to the site owner and see what the problem is. It could also be that he's not accepting new sign-ups.

I once tried to sign up on a site and it did not accept my Gmail. I asked the owner, who was a member of another community where I was active, why the site was not accepting my registration, and he asked me to sign up with another email provider. When I tried signing up with outlook mail, my registration was complete. Sometimes issues like these are associated with configuration mistakes, and sometimes, they just ban certain IP or email providers.

I tried at least 3 different email addresses but kept getting the same response. I was actually frustrated 😤 by the whole thing because I couldn't how something like that's going to be possible. But maybe it's like what @Nomad pointed out that it's likely to be a mistake in configuration.

It's also possible that your email address was mistakenly included in the banned list. This can occur if there was an error or misunderstanding during the forum's moderation or banning process. In such cases, contacting the forum administrator directly to explain the situation and request clarification or removal from the ban list might help.

I don't believe it was something possible for all the three different email addresses I tried to register with on the forum to be on a banned list, even when one of them was a newly created email because of the issue. It was a technical issue from the website.
