Thank you very much for this thread. I love to read educative thread like this. Word press can pose some disadvantages sometimes just as you have said up here.

There are not enough encrypted security for wordpress and this is because it's almost free. The disadvantage ought not to be that it's free but it's level of security is very low.

As a major advantage in using the WordPress for your online store design and creation process, it is usually free to use and always very easy to navigate and understand after a very short time on the site too

I think advantages overpowers the disadvantages. First of all wordpress and woocommerce both are free, secondly, the store is easy to set up. The only disadvantage I see is the site cannot handle large traffic

WordPress is one of the best website creating software or site that someone can use to create a great website that will give a very lasting result on your website. I love WordPress because it is the best website creating software on the internet as far as I'm concerned.

I can only capitalize on the advantages of using WordPress than its disadvantages. Though there might be some disadvantages but the advantages are far more. WordPress happens to be the easiest way to create and develop a website which require just a little knowledge.

Advantages of WordPress: Plugins
One of the major advantages of WordPress is that it has over 45,000 plugins for almost every functionality. No matter whether you want to enhance the SEO or run an analysis of your site, you can find specific plugins for everything.
This means you don’t have to write lines of code for every functionality you want on your site. You just need to install the plugin and enjoy that functionality in your site.

SEO-Friendly
The plugins on WordPress are designed for SEO purposes and simplicity. Some people have a hard time with Meta descriptions and tags. WordPress helps in making these tags easy to use and understand.

Responsive Websites
With increasing usage of mobile devices for internet surfing, having a mobile-friendly site is crucial to the UX as well as SEO. When it comes to being responsive, most of WordPress’s themes and designs are responsive. By using WordPress as your website’s CMS, you’ll be able to benefit from a responsive site for your business without having to create a separate website altogether.

Disadvantages of WordPress: Customization
Unlike other drag and drop web builder tools out there, WordPress is quite a flexible tool. However, if you’re not an expert of WordPress or if you don’t have a skilled WordPress developer for it, you might face some serious issues.

Vulnerability & Data Security
One of the major disadvantages of this CMS is that it can be vulnerable in multiple cases. Since WordPress is an open-source platform, it opens the room to potential hackers.

Frequent Updates
Installing WordPress is not enough. In order to make sure that it works properly, you have to install several plugins and themes. The more plugins you use, the more you’re going to encounter compatibility challenges.

Online stores deals with financial transaction. If the data is breached it will be detrimental for the store owner. This is the main issue with wordpress.

I don't think it is wiser a reasonable for anyone to use WordPress free website to open an online store because free website cannot convert well.

WordPress make it pretty much easier to build a website within a short time. WordPress also comes with wide range of free games that can make your website looks attractive. WordPress represents 23% of all the websites on the internet.

If you are planning small, I think the advantages weight more than disadvantages when it come to creating an online store in wordpress. First of all, it is free, secondly, you can create the store without any coding skills.

I have seen a lot of people say WordPress site usually come with some kind of security issues but I am yet to experience that. The major disadvantage is that he will not have the luxury of designing the website to your own test.

Chai!!! You just mentioned that wordpress is prone to attacks. Does that mean using WordPress to create your website can make the website insecure??.

One thing that I like in wordpress is that it can be used in diverse ways. It easy to use for someone that wants to use it to open online store. And many payment gateway can be implemented

The very reason why people use wordprsss is that it is free and have various templates for new users that just want to start blogging.

WordPress is free, downside is that it's prone to attack and you have to pay for plug-in
Yes, it is prone to attacks. But you can use security plugins to secure your site. I have been using wordpress for many years and I have never paid for plugin. There are lot of free plugins.

I think WordPress is actually useful for building a content for management system you can use it even for free, I don't think if they are safe.
