Adding Polls to Websites

What do you think about this idea? Will it increase the user engagement in a website and help earn frequent visitors?

I have a poll on Admining just for the kicks and giggles... barely anyone actually submits a vote though.

If your website has lots of traffic, having a poll can be a great idea.

If your site is new, there is no point in having a poll.
