Youtube Ranking Now Depends on the watch time instead of view count

Google has made a change to the youtube search algorithm recently. The algorithm change was for making the watch time an important factor in youtube search.
I guess this makes more sense now as youtube views are easy to fake but not the watch time, bot or human, the video must be watched completely for increasing the view count.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think it is a good change, and also it brings much more importance to the video by taking time in viewing it.
