Would you live in this structure?

I'm not obsessed with keeping up with the Joneses, so I don't care. $1000 for it.

It's not really for living in but setting up fora party or similar to have a covered and somewhat weather protected area better than a simple canopy can provide.
Very similar to some of the portable observatories I have looked at in the past. They are not for long term use.

You can actually find tiny houses at home depot that would be suited to live in.

This wouldn’t with stand powerful winds and would break.

I am more worried about the weather as well. How do we get to pull through should the weather be as fierce as we wouldn't expect. This is one of the reasons that I won't want to live in this type of house at all.

Want something solid against rain and hail (and wind if tied down properly)?
Get a shipping container and finish it out. It's not that hard to do. The most difficult thing is the electrical and plumbing for it.
Have a friend whose father finished one out years ago in Galveston when he was young and then added on to it as he got older.

This is not his, but similar to what I am talking about.

Yeah, that would work, but it's probably more than $1000.

What is neat about the shipping container homes is you can use multiple. There is one about 3 miles from my brothers land that they are building that is a 2 level one and they are putting several together to make larger areas. The guy that owns that land is a welder and he is doing most of the fitting himself.

Yeah, that would work, but it's probably more than $1000.
You would be better served getting a tent than one of those plastic blow-away temp shelters like in first post.
They do make tents (usually canvas) that are designed to be lived in for moderate climates.
Generally you want to find one that is wood stove compatible for cooler locations and so that it also allows you to cook on that wood stove inside. Something like the below is around $2000. We had looked at the heavy canvass tents before getting the RV for camping.

This one is a smaller and cheaper version of it.

Yep... they have a wide variety of them there. When looking at these you need to consider how many people and what all you want to have inside. They are one of the better quality tents. We liked the star gazer because you have the windows on top that can be blocked out by a inside cover for daytime to keep it darker inside and the larger one because we have fur babies that go with us.
