Would you be annoyed if your boss made an announcement that you and your coworkers would be working Thanksgiving?

Uh yeah. I would be annoyed! I get working the day before or after but the day of should not be a working day.

That happened to me with a job I had in Florida. My former boss openly stated that he would only allow Christmas and that was it. All other holidays didn't matter. He said if we took off on any of those holidays, that he would fire us and told us a story about how one of his employees didn't heed his warning and took off for Labor Day and he fired her the next day.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK but I understand the holiday and what it is about.

If I were to be celebrating it and I got asked to come in to work on that day, I would be very upset.

I don't really do holidays in the first place and the only day that the job even closes for is Christmas. So, doesn't matter on my end.

Absolutely! There would be no point in us working on that day for one thing, another thing is I used to work at Walmart and had to work Thanksgiving. It absolutely sucked seeing people come in with their family when I had to come to work. I was lucky enough to be able to leave early though.

Same brother! It wasn't a huge annoyance since I'm not a big socializer around my family anyway, but it still does kind of suck to not see them as often as I probably should. Now, if for some reason I had to work Christmas, I'd be mad.
